I agree with protecting the puck against the poke, but defenders in real life don't jerk their stick like a horny monkey either when defending. Big hits all the time are unrealistic, but so is a spamming pokecheck. Real defenders usually place their stick in an area then poke at a good opportunity, or go for a tie-up, rub out or HIT.
Sorry for all the "sexual" ennuendos. lol

Yeah but the issue is you have zero control over the poke checks in this game thanks to EA, so you cant really get them into a good position, and even if you get your body in a great position the 'active sticks' is still a gamble, so I'd rather have pokes that actually connect every time then a dice roll for a poke check.

After playing NHL since 99 constantly and NHL since 07 with LeafsGM non stop. I definitely agree with needing the defensive tools to be consistent. EA somehow made Offense easier yet took away all the defensive tools. Standard slider defense is so much harder. Your defense will never get an "Active stick" on a pass. So forcing passes and dumb plays is way too easy. And deking through people is too unless Poke checks are raises. It's ying/yang. All needs to be balanced out and I feel that with the experimentation that LeafsGM and I have done with the sliders that these are (in our opinion of course) the most "realistic" sliders possible in this game.

I dont know why put something in these sliders messed the G up. The team scored twice by the puck just boucing off the G and going in. He didnt shoot or anything it was a force pass twice and the goalie just fly's out of the net and it ends up bouncing off his own pads and in without any 1 else touching the puck. Witch is kinda of bs since it gave his team so much moumentum.

We'll probably be bumping goalie reaction speed by 1 for the next rotation

sliders are good just played a against the cpu and they took a hooking and slashing penalty. can i ask why goalie passing is so high i get that it will be manual anyway. But you know that move where the goalie slides the puck to the side off a shot i hope that animation isnt directly associated with that particular slider because ive seen some awful goals go in where the goalie slides the puck to the side when theirs a scrum in front of the net and the opposing player just puts it in.
....one more thing can you bring down the acceleration or game speed a bit. Eric Gryba just went coast to coast flying by everyone, it seems the high speed and acceleration doesn't leave much room for differences between players.

Good point about goalie passing, idk why we set it like that we just figured it was irrelevant. We'll put it at the lowest in case of the sweep though.
We were thinking about lowering game speed by 1 but we like player accel as is because it eliminates the slow turning/pivoting and players don't look like a Boeing 747 trying to turn around anymore.

I think most sliders are on the dot, if not off by an inch. I don't see many problems regarding the skating at all.
I don't think goalie passing should be tweaked lower because like JetsGM pointed out, those pucks slides are a pass and it just creates havoc.

I don't think Goalie passing needs to be touched as well. It doesn't increase the likelyness of sweeps. What it does it increase the goalies passing skill. So when he passes out it determines the strength and accuracy of the pass. We know from EASHL. Our newborn goalies (No stats) would always auto sweep with no goalie passing stats. I think that Goalie reaction should go up by one. On one side I like that the goalies let up more shots from the slot/tips because the games becomes less luck based but the games are pretty high scoring so we will try going up one and seeing how that goes. Also maaaaybe Game Speed down one notch but Player Acceleration has to stay. Anything lower and your players become the titanic timbits hockey players of the year. (English: Turn and pivot like ass) What we have tried to do over around 4 months of playing each other 1 on 1 (Me and Leafs) is try to find a balance between offensive tools and defensive tools whilst maintaining the "integrity" of the game. It's not that easy to do with EA's game haha. We also want to try to reward good chances which is why goalies we're a tad lower. It's still an ongoing process and we're working on it! Any and all serious suggestions are taken into consideration though.

I agree the game speed could be a tad slower. I'd drop it one notch.
